Among the economic crops, pachyrhizus leaf had the most remarkable treating effect, the COD treating capacity per day per unit area was 4.01g, that is, a 50% treating rate; the BOD treating capacity was 1.15 g, that is, a 35% treating rate; the TP treating capacity was 0.23 g, that is, a 16% treating rate; the TN treating capacity was 1.87 g, that is, a 74% treating rate; however, the treating effect decreased as the total amount of pollution entering this system increased by raising the water volume, which was mainly owing to the relatively short hydraulic retention time.

由水质试验结果显示，本系统所选用的作物处理生活污水成效极佳，优於一般湿地选用的植物，以及河滩地原生草种型态，其中以地瓜叶的处理成效最为显著，每日单位面积COD去除速率为4.01 g 、处理效率达50﹪；BOD去除速率为1.15 g 、处理效率达35﹪；TP去除速率为0.23 g 、处理效率达16﹪；TN去除速率为1.87 g 、处理效率74﹪，而以加大水量的方式，增加进入本系统之污染总量，其处理成效减低，主要原因受到水力停留时间较短影响，未来可以增加处理面积、水力停留时间加长、提高原水浓度为后续之研究方向，以达到增加本系统处理成效之目的。

The results show that the construction of the railway has an obvious effect on the warm steppe,but the characteristics of community,such as the coverage,ecological dominance and species richness of communities have been improved after its natural restoration,and some species,such as Elymus nutans,Aconitum gymnandrum and Thermopsis lanceolata,play an important role in the restoration communities.An assistant measure taken by human beings will benefit to the restoration.There is no any evidence of exotic invading plants in the restoration of the warm steppe in the study area.

结果显示，青藏铁路修筑过程对铁路两侧一定区域的温性草原有较大影响，但随着受影响区域植被的自然恢复，群落盖度、生态优势度和物种多样性等反应群落特征的指标都有一定程度的改善，一些在原生植被中很少出现或伴生种在恢复后的群落中有可能成为群落的优势种或建群种，如露蕊乌头和鹅绒委陵菜等；人为辅助措施将有利于受损植被的恢复；修筑铁路过程中受到影响的温性草原其恢复过程中尚未出现外来入侵植物。

The objectives of the study were to: 1 reveal the responses of vegetation and soil to degradation by investigating community characteristics and soil physic-chemical properties; 2 quantify the contributions of human factors and natural factors and the relationship among the factors by analyzing the variation of each factor in past decades; 3 understand the succession of fenced undegraded meadow, artificial pasture, semi-artificial pasture and degraded meadow, and to 4 provide suggestions for restoration and rehabilitation of the degraded rangeland in the region.
