Historical philosophy is a philosophic consideration and rational knowledge for history,it surmounts objective historical experience.

Based on detailed historical records, this paper systematizes the features of silk garment patterns in different periods in ancient times. The author holds that the great influence of those patterns created by our ancestors under specific historical backguounds on today′s pattern design for silk garment embodies the continuation of history and inheritance of culture. Theses patterns reflecting the intellegence and wisdom of the Chinese labouring people constitute a part of precious scientific and cultural heritage of China and the whole world.

文章在翔实的史料基础上，整理出古代各个历史时期丝绸服饰纹样的特点，并据此认为：在特定的历史背景下，由先人们创造的丝绸服饰纹样对当今丝绸纹样设计的重大影响，实际上正体现历史的延续和文化的继承，显示了我国古代高超的丝织技艺水平，反映了我国劳动人民的聪明才智，它是中国和世界的科学文化遗产的珍贵组成部分。
