Hitherto mankind has relied on fossil fuel for a major part of its energy supply. Obviously the reserve of fossil fuel is by no means unlimited and will eventually be exhausted after decades. Hence, so far as long-term viewpoint is concerned, it is of importance to utilize the abundant and elean solar energy as an alternative energy source. Stimulated by this objective, studies on the preparation of suitable thin semiconductor films of larger size using simpler methods have attracted increasing interests.
