Barrington's nucleus that located in the pontine dorsolateral tegmentum is an important site for controlling voiding in the mammalian brain and is often referred to as pontine micturition center. Barrington's nucleus sends direct projection fibers to the sacral parasympathetic nucleus in which parasympathetic preganglionic neurons innervating detrusor muscles of the bladder are distributed. Electron or chemical stimulation of Barrington's nucleus clicits bladder contraction and increases discharges of bladder postganglionic nerve. Conversely, lesion of the nucleus results in a permanent inability to empty the bladder. On the other hand, an area located just ventral to Barrington's nucleu has been reported to send projection fibers to the ventrolateral group of Onuf's nucleus in the caudal lumbar cord segments; the vetrolateral group of Onuf's nucleus is mainly composed of pudendal motor neurons innervating the external urethral sphincter muscle.

In this research, the pubertal five-week-old SD rats were chose as experimental object to establish the animal model for simulating maxillary protraction, on which was imposed the orthopedic force of 85g with utilizing the self-devised maxillary protraction appliance. Located lateral X-ray cephalograms were taken to measure and analyze the changes of maxillary development after exerting the orthopedic force for 4 weeks. The technique of immunohistochemistry was used to investigate theexpression of TGF-, in frontomaxillary sutures and palatomaxillary sutures with identical force performing for different extent of time. The average hue was selected as indicator, which was measured by the means of the analysis system of pathological color images. The measuring data were analyzed by the one-way ANOVA in software SPSS 11.0 version.

Investigation of major metabolic pathways of SFZ-47 in animals The metabolites of SFZ-47 in rabbit urine following oral administration were separated and detected with HPLC and LC-MS methods. On the basis of the chromatographic behavior and mass spectra of the metabolites as well as biotransformation pathways of drugs with the partial structure of SFZ-47, the hydroxylic derivative 4-(3H-1, 2- dihydro-1-pyrrolizinone-2-methylamino benzyl alcohol and the carboxylic derivative 4-(3H-1, 2-dihydro-1-pyrrolizinone-2-methylamino benzoic acid of SFZ-47 were proposed as two potential metabolites and were synthesized.
