本研究所发展的监控系统，除了可在网页上浏览动态资料外，其与现有既存的网路监控系统最大的差异在於：可在任何一台经过授权的电脑修改伺服电脑的程式，其中包括：远端测试软硬体、远端故障排除、遥控启动程式；也就是说，当大部分情况发生时，人员不需要到达现场，即可将问题排除，且在不变更资料撷取模组等相关硬体的前提下，可在远端依现场的需要，任意的增加或删除伺服电脑的功能和程式，进而达到最佳的工作效率。
