Results: About 37.0% of the subjects knew chronic metabolic disease, and 20.8% of them knew little about the disease. Of the 125 individuals previously diagnosed, 104 were taking medicine; however, only 57 participants were taking medicine according to how it was prescribed by their physicians. The main reason for not taking the medicine as recommended by the physicians was a failure to realize the imperilment of the chronic metabolic disease, accounting for 47.2%. Multivariable analysis showed that degree of education was a significant factor in the knowledge level of chronic metabolic disease.
