The firmness and soluble solid content decreased on storage. The precooling methods had little effect on the firmness of fruit, but wind precooling could relieve the decrease of to a certian extent. The two varieties of plum fruit both became rotten in the late period of storage, the rot with ice precooling was higher than wind.

Fortunately, from experience I can confirm that swimming in a heated pool in between cold dips does not interfere with the acclimatisation process.
