The principal indicators for recognition of glacial event are presented ,based mainly on various features of the Luoquan Glacial Epoch of Late Sinian , combining with the features of the Nantuo and other glacial epoches .

Based on investigations and studies of modern and ancient glaciers at the Tanggula Mountain pass, coupled with the GPS data and TL, 10B-26Al-21Ne and 14C dating data, Quaternary remnants of glaciation in the study area are discussed in detail. Two glacial epochs (i.e., the late Middle Pleistocene penultimate glacial epoch and the mid-late Late Pleistocene last glacial epoch) arid two Holocene glacial advances (i. e. the Neoglaciation and the Little Ice Age) have been intensively studied.

We suggested that, in the last 130ka, the prominently lake expanding period i.e. the pan-lake period, probably have come into being at MIS5e、MIS5c、MIS5a、 MIS3c、MIS3a, corresponding to high summer solar radiation stages of middle and low latitude in northern Hemisphere, which were in phased with 20ka-cycle. MIS5e was the warmest and wettest stage of the last interglacial, and the other stages were the interstadial of the last interglacial.

对青藏高原及上述诸地区末次间冰期以来气候记录的对比分析揭示：末次间冰期以来，青藏高原湖泊淡化、湖面显著扩涨期，即泛湖期，可能对应于MIS5e、MIS5c、MIS5a、MIS3c、MIS3a，即末次间冰期各暖湿期，末次冰期间冰阶；其分别产生于北半球中、低纬度夏季高太阳辐射阶段，具有准20ka周期演化特征，夏季风降水是造成湖泊扩涨的控制因素。

Theδ〓O fluctuation showed that during the Last Glaciation there existed at least seven warm and five cold climatic fluctuations or events in the east Tibetan plateau, and that during the Last Interglacial Age there existed clearly 5 climatic substages, namely 5a to 5e, among which substage 5e was the warmest climate period, but 5a was an optimum episode of moisture and heat combination.

The glacial rock surface on the independent hill near Laolinkou Daoban was formed in MIS6. The roche moutonnee in the north of Mountain Tuershang was formed in MIS2. Normally , the distance glacial reached is further and the height of glacial is bigger, the scale of ice age is bigger.

根据三组样品所反映的三次冰期来看，形成于倒数第三次冰期的老终垄的保存，以及形成于倒数第二次冰期的冰川擦痕面的存在，说明最近三次冰期的规模由大到小依次为倒数第三次冰期、倒数第二次冰期和末次冰期。

They have several meters of paleosol developed on the top of overbank silt, suggesting that the abandonment of each terrace due to river incision occurs during the transition from glacial to interglacial climates and there may be a link between the production of terraces and glacial-interglacial climatic cycles. However, it is not every glacial-interglacial transition during the last 1,240ka that terrace can form and preserve.

The down core changes of Florisphaera profunda percentage content implied that the thermocline was shallower in glacial periods and deeper in interglacial periods, which might be the direct controlling factors of WPWP productivity changes. It is speculated that the glacial-interglacial fluctuation of the depth of thermocline was induced by the super-ENSO variation.

钙质超微化石下透光带属种Florisphaeva profunda百分含量指示的温跃层深度变化表明冰期温跃层浅、间冰期温跃层加深，这说明类ENSO式变化导致的冰期-间冰期温跃层深度波动可能是MIS7期以来暖池核心区古生产力在冰期高而在间冰期显著降低的直接控制因素。

It is perfectly recorded in these 2 lake cores that the transfer from stage 3 to Last Glacial Maximum and from Last Glacial Maximum to Holocene. The record of pollen in lake core 98-4-A show that there are an abundance of species in Arctic ecosystem, the ecosystem was havocked at Last Glacial Maximum, and is resuming gradually in Holocene.

这两支湖泊岩芯完整地记录了北极巴罗地区从3阶段到盛冰期的转换、从盛冰期到全新世的转换。98-4-B湖泊岩芯的孢粉记录表明，末次盛冰期前北极地区的生态系统物种丰富，末次盛冰期时被严重破坏，全新世时期逐步恢复。

Two major Neoproterozoic glaciations are Marinoan and Sturtian. A number of studies suggested that the Marinoan glaciation terminated about 635 Ma ago, hut the time of its beginning is uncertain.
