ABSTRACT The development history and current research state of pulsed discharge-excited alkaline-earth Metal Vapor Lasers were reviewed in detail in the paper. After all those multi-mechanism lines region from ultraviolet to infrared had been successfully obtained in our experiments, a consistent model has been build up for longitudinal pulsed discharge excited He-Sr vapor laser.
