With coupler embedded and acceleration sensitivity compensation design, the structure symmetry is insured, which can induce the acceleration sensitivity effectively. The acceleration sensitivity compensation design also improves the production efficiency of FOH for towed linear array application.2. A good theoretical simulation platform, utilizing the method of elastic mechanics and the finite element method, is established, which can provide an effect predictive design for FOH. The experimental results are in good agreement with the theoretical analysises.3. Some key technology problems in the making of FOH for towed linear array application are conquered. The new developed FOH, with an acoustic sensitivity of -143.0dB, has acceleration sensitivity less than -30dB, which exceeded to results from other international reports.

The wavelength resolution of the sensing measurement is 0.05nm. A novel FBG Bourdon tube sensor has been constructed, utilizing the pressure mechanic amplify function of Bourdon tube. The measured pressure sensitivity is two orders of magnitude higher than a simple monomode fiber with an in-fiber grating. Especially the pressure sensitivity of the sensor can be determined by changing the parameters of the cantilever beam. Adopting polymer package technique, we coat fiber Bragg grating by using polymer with different mechanic properties. Due to the driving effect of the polymer substrate, the enhanced pressure sensitivity is more than 20 times and 31. 7 times than that of a bare fiber grating. The packaged grating exhibits no significant chirp due to the adoption of special packaging technique.

An explicit analytical solution of the threshold pump power of the laser has been derived based on rate equations which contain the attenuation coefficients of the pump and laser radiations as well as the major contribution of the re-emission of the upper level atoms to the pump wave by using the analytical solutions. An analytical solution of the minimum fiber length required for the onset of the oscillation is presented. In addition, the analytical solutions describing the variations of the density of the pump radiation and upper laser level population along the fiber length have also been given.

The power of the ASE is 22. 1mW and the power conversion efficiency is 18. 8%. 9. The amplification characteristics of thulium-doped fiber amplifier had been studied using the basic theory for fiber amplifier. The connection between the Tm-doped fluoride fiber and silicon fiber was accomplished, and we studied the TDFA and the reason that the expecting results hadn't achieved had been analyzed. The assumption of the Er-Tm-co-doped silicon fiber had been presented, and we studied the Er-Tm-co-doped silicon in cooperation with the correlative corporation, some results had been got and the further studies are carried on.
