It was found that, even though the traditional ideas of a patriarchy society still influences the Vietnamese families, it's not as important as it is used to be. The young generation of Vietnamese women reacted differently towards patriarchy when compared to the last generation. Nowadays Vietnamese women have their own thoughts and control over marriages. Even if it's because of financial concerns that make them choose to marry abroad, most decisions are made under serious self-consideration, and not because of influences by their parents.

研究发现虽然传统儒家观念对越南家庭的影响仍深，但是家庭中重男轻女的想法已经没有过去那麼重，新一代的越南女性对於男尊女卑的观念与上一辈已经有所不同，现在越南女性对於婚姻的想法大多已有自我的主张，纵使选择嫁来台湾是因为经济因素，但她们也是经过许多自我的考量之后，才决定远嫁海外，而非因为父母亲观念的影响。

Based on another empirical research accomplished by Hwang (2003), a conceptual framework was proposed to classify life goals in Confucian society into three categories, namely, vertical distinctiveness, horizontal distinctiveness, and personal goal, and to discuss the differences among these three categories of life goals in terms of parental request, teacher's expectation, peer competition, social value s, personal value s, freedom of choice, reasons for choice, self-attribution following success or failure, and self-presentation.

接着根据黄光国于二○○二年至二○○三年所做的另一项实征研究，将儒家社会中的生活目标分为：纵向杰出、横向杰出、及自我肯定三大类，并提出一个概念架构，说明这三大类目标在父母要求、师长期待、同侪竞争、社会价值、个人价值、选择自由、选择理由、成败归因及自我呈现等方面的不同。

So the thesis can help understand the Chinese Buddhism"s ethics system which was from India in the ancient times and Chinese Confucian school"s ethics system, which can tell us their developing history .
