With the purpose of managing water resource effectively, using Shanghai watercourse data, Shanghai watercourse information system based on GIS is established by component technology and the implementation methods of its function modules are discussed in this paper. Based on these, GIS integrated technology is applied in water resource administrative area, which is important to utilize water resource reasonably and also can improve its management efficiency.
