Other diagnostic features include the presence of a crest along the anterodorsal midlines of the premaxillae,the edentulous maxilla,the presence of a groove-like trough along with the anterolateral margin of the maxilla on the ventral surface,the presence of six conical premaxillary teeth,and no more than six conical dentary teeth which are restricted to the anterior portion of the dentary.

其他主要特征有：前颌骨沿前背中央有一隆嵴；上颌仅前颌骨有6枚圆锥形齿，无上颌骨齿；上颌骨沿前腹侧缘有一沟槽；下颌齿骨齿都集中在前端且至多不超过6枚。依据上述这些特征很易把短吻贫齿龙与其他已知海龙相区别。短吻贫齿龙头骨顶面松果孔大且很前位，头骨腭面的锄骨和翼骨均无齿，它的颈较长(至少可以辨认出13个颈椎)。

In this case, we tried to use the alveolar bone splitting technique with the Piezosurgery, and the incison line was put in the alveolar ridge as lingually as possible that the integrity of the cortical plate of the alveolar ridge is reserved in the buccal side. Because the resistance to the mesial movement of the posterior teeth is greatly decreased, the possibility of the root resorption or dehiscence is reduced, and the stability after the orthodontic treatment would be improved while the height and width of the alveolar bone increase.

本病例尝试以超音波骨刀，於缺牙区进行齿槽骨劈开手术，其切线尽可能靠近齿槽之舌侧，以使齿槽上的皮质骨板可完整置於颊侧；这样当后牙向前牵引时，才不会因皮质骨板而阻碍前进及牙根被吸收或裂开，同时也能增加齿槽骨之高度与宽度，亦可使矫正后的牙齿更加稳定。

This in vivo study was to examine the historical changes of implanted novel chitosan/collagen composite barrier for confirming the clinical feasibility. Four other commercial GTR membranes were chosen for comparison. Among the resorbable GTR membranes, BioMend Extend and Peri-Aid are collagen base, and GORE-TEX OSSEOQUEST is synthesized membrane, while GORE-TEX e-PTFE (Expanded polytetrafluoroethylene) is synthesized but non-resorbable. Beagle dogs were used as animal model. Buccal mucoperiosteal flaps were reflected in the bilateral mandibular premolar and molar areas. Buccal alveolar bone was reduced on 1st、2nd premolar and molar to a level 5 mm apical to the cemento-enemel junction. Root surface was denuded of periodontal ligament and cementum, and notches were placed at the bone level of each root. The tested GTR barriers were implanted in critical bone defect areas. Flaps were coronally positioned and sutured. Two beagle dogs were sacrificed each time as the designed time period after surgery. Histological and histometirc evaluation at 7 days、14 days、28 days、3 months were performed post-operatively to determine the healing response of each treatment modality.

本研究之目的在评估与工研院生医中心合作发展出可吸收性去乙醯几丁聚醣/胶原蛋白复合之组织导引再生膜片，并选择与可吸收性之BioMend Extend 及Peri-Aid 胶原蛋白膜片，和GORE-TEX OSSEOQUEST 合成高分子膜片，及不可吸收之GORE-TEX e-PTFE合成高分子膜片，等其他四种市售商品材料共同对照评估，应用8只年龄为12个月的雄性小猎犬，均分4组(分别为7天、14天、28天、3个月)，为动物活体评估模式，在实验犬之左、右下颚第一、二小臼齿及大臼齿的颊侧区制造骨缺损后，分别植入组织导引再生膜片，依实验设定时间将小猎犬牺牲，取下缺损区骨头，以光学显微镜观察量测其牙垩质再生高度与齿槽骨再生高度之变化，以探讨其组织再生模式及评估新膜片在临床应用之适用性。

This means that the alveolar bone at lingual side contributed similar effects on the mobility of incisor to that at facial side, and the effect of alveolar bone of mesial side was also similar to that at distal side.

即上颚犬齿在近心侧齿槽骨缺损与远心侧齿槽骨缺损时对牙齿动摇度的影响相当，且舌侧齿槽骨缺损对牙齿动摇度的影响和唇侧齿槽骨缺损时相同。

This means that the alveolar bone at the lingual side contributed more effect on the mobility of incisor than that of the facial side. However, the effect of alveolar bone of the mesial side was closely to the distal side.

即上颚正中门齿在近心侧齿槽骨缺损与远心侧齿槽骨缺损时对牙齿动摇度的影响相当，但舌侧齿槽骨缺损对牙齿动摇度的影响却大於唇侧齿槽骨缺损。
