打捞时在引鞋和导锥的作用下滑牙块能够顺利进入鱼腔并依靠自重下滑，沿导轨外伸直至其齿面与鱼腔内壁接触；随后上提钻柱，矛杆上的导轨斜面迫使滑牙块咬紧被打捞油管内壁，当油管严重偏磨使一对滑牙块卡在磨穿位置时，另一对能有效卡在未磨损部位，同时外筒限制了油管外胀变形。
