故选样于具有代表性的传统佛寺：金山寺、净业院、灵隐寺，再加上台湾战后才设立的福严精舍、法宝寺、十方禅林，最后以笔者所住持的法源讲寺为例，探讨从传统到现代过程中的体验实况，归结于虽透过时代之变迁而演发不同的根系，但佛法义理与精神乃是佛寺建筑风格的精髓之所在。
