Iranians prepared to vote on March 14th in elections to the majlis, or parliament.

THE second round of majlis, or parliamentary, elections on Friday 25th April were not expected to change anything significant in Iran, where conservatives have a strong grip on power.

By the time of the next majlis elections in 2008, or the presidential ones in 2009, the reformists will have regrouped and the pendulum may swing back.
