The correlative ways and available experiences are summarized about recent instruments management and usage in campus network center.

This paper reviewed the application development of spectrometers in color measurement. The trend of its development was described. The spectrometer with rotating grating and scaning structure have been replaced by another type which has no moving parts and uses CCD array for detecting.
