It is used to some extent in pharmaceutical industry (used as special catalyst to produce antibiotics) and chemical industry, esp. in production of cephalosporin (whose effect is better than boron trifluoride ethyl ether complex compound), and also used for most advanced science, such as abstraction of fuel with high energy and of isotope B10 as well as chemical reagent.

It was shown from the results that emulsifier TP-Ⅴ which was prepared by PEG 4000 reacted with TME, in the molar ratio of TME to PEG 2:1, at about 110℃ for 1 h, catalyzed by boron trifluoride diethyl etherate, has a very good emulsifying impact for TME. Particle size distribution of the emulsion was homo-geneous and viscosity of the emulsion was small.
