Tumor necrosis factor-, ThyomboxaneA2 ,ProstaglandinsI2 are all important inflammatory mediator. TNF-( is one of cytokines. It is important to the over-production of ICAM-1,VCAM-1, TXA2 andPGI2. The ICAM-1 and VCAM-1 mediate both leukocytes adhesion and migration through the endothelium into tissues to connect with injuried target cells. The TXA2 and PGI2 are the production of arachidonic acid. They are responsible for the tissue ischaemia.

The synthesis of high purity azelaic acid through oxidation of oleic acid with 50% hydrogen peroxide was studied by using tungstic acid as a catalyst and ionic liquid as a basic reaction system .

The thermal behavior of silver behenate has been studied by infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, combined thermogravimetry-differential thermal analysis-mass spectrometry. The results indicated that complicated phase transitions took place while heating silver behenate,but there were two distinct thermal transitions. During the first transition at 138°C, the alkyl chains of silver behenate were transformed from an ordered into disordered state.

This thesis includes five parts as follows.1. The backgrounds and some relative concepts of this work are briefly introduced. The photochemistry of benzamides and compounds with thiourea functional group is also concisely reviewed.2. Total of fourteen benzamides with different substituted groups have been synthesized and structurally characterized. Better photoreaction time for that kind of compounds at given concentrations is confirmed by tracking its'UV spectrum and GC chromatogram. A representative dibenzophenone photoproduct has been determined by X-ray crystallography. The mechanisms of photoreaction of benzamide have been proposed.3. Total of seven N-chloro(phenylmethylenebenzenamines with different substituted groups and sixty-one thiourea derivatives have been synthesized and structurally characterized.

After reaction for 30 minutes, the removal rate of TOC is 40% lower than that of aniline, which shows a series of intermediate by-products, mainly benzoquinone, as detected by HPLC and IC, are resulted from the decomposition of aniline.
