Habitat utilization of root vole was studied in the region of Haibei Alpine Meadow Ecosystem Research Station, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, from July to September of 2002 and 2003. Three indexes of activity intensities, runway length, runway branch number and burrow entrance number were used to estimate root vole's utilization intensities on four types of habitats, manual cultivated land, true meadow, swamp meadow and Dasiphora fruticosa shrub.

为研究根田鼠对不同类型栖息地的利用强度，于2002-2003年的7-9月在中国科学院海北高寒草甸生态系统定位站地区采用样方法测定了4种类型栖息地（人工耕作地、真草甸、沼泽化草甸、金露梅灌丛）中的3个根田鼠活动强度变量（跑道长度、跑道分叉数、洞口数）。

Thermoanaerobacter tengcongensis is a rod-shaped, Gram-negative, anaerobic eubacterium that was isolated from a fresh water hot spring in Tengchong, China. Using a"whole-genome-shotgun"method, we sequenced its 2, 689, 445-bp genome from an isolate, MB4〓(Genbank Accession Number AE008691). The genome encodes 2, 588 predicted coding sequences . Among them, 1, 764 (68. 2％) are classified according to homology to other documented proteins, and the rest, 824 CDS (31. 8％), are functionally unknown. One of the interesting features of the T. tengcongensis genome is that 86. 7％ of its genes are encoded on the leading strand of DNA replication.

I examined the specimens deposited at PE, KUN, IBK, IBSC, and HIB. And I required to take a lot of photos of type specimens in Harvard University Herbarium and several photos of type specimens in the herbaria in China, or downloaded some photos of type specimens at the website of NY, K, US, and HK. I went to Yunnan, Chongqing, Guizhou, Hubei, Hunan, Guanxi to collect specimens and observed the kiwifruits cultivated in Wuhan Botanical Garden and Guangxi Institute of Botany. With reference to the results of previous authors, I recognized 52 species including 16 varieties of Actinidia.
