It has been held that in determining whether a person is 'ordinary resident' in Hong Kong, the following guidelines were helpful: whether a person is ordinary resident in Hong Kong is a question of fact and degree and must be determined in all the circumstances; a person can have ordinary residence in two countries at the same time; the residence must be voluntary and cannot be forced against the person's free will; involuntariness may negative ordinary residence; and temporary or occasional absences of long or short duration do not negative ordinary residences: See Lau San Ching v Liu, Apollonia (1995) 5 HKPLR 23 at p 28, per Cheung J.

这段意思是说，一个人通常居住的地方是他除了一时或非经常的长期或短暂的离开之外，惯常或正常居住的地方，除非法例特别另定意义，通常居住的地方是指某一个人自愿选择作为当时正常生活定居的地方，无论居期的长短。而且，有很多案例说明，在裁定一个人是否通常居住在香港时，法庭要把这问题从事实和程度的角度处理，而一定要考虑到所有的背景因素。再者，一个人可同时在两个国家通常地居住，而且居住一定要是自愿，而并非被逼。

It's with sadness that I report to you that Lorimer Davidson, GEICO's former Chairman, died last November, a few days after his 97th birthday. For GEICO, Davy was a business giant who moved the company up to the big leagues. For me, he was a friend, teacher and hero. I have told you of his lifelong kindnesses to me in past reports. Clearly, my life would have developed far differently had he not been a part of it. Tony, Lou Simpson and I visited Davy in August and marveled at his mental alertness -- particularly in all matters regarding GEICO. He was the company's number one supporter right up to the end, and we will forever miss him. Aviation Services Our two aviation services companies -FlightSafety International and Executive Jet Aviation -- are both runaway leaders in their field.

在这里很遗憾地向各位报告， GEICO 前董事长-Lorimer Davidson，于去年十一月去世，享年 97 岁，对于 GEICO 来说，大卫是带领公司跃上台面的企业巨人，而对我个人来说，他是我的偶像，亦师亦友，在过去年度的报告中，我不只一次的提到他对我个人的关照，很显然的要是没有他，我个人的一生可能要完全改观，Tony，Lou Simpson 与我在去年八月还曾经去拜访他，对于他当时的记忆力还佩服不已，尤其是有关 GEICO 的点点滴滴，一直以来，他就是 GEICO 公司的头号支持者，我们将会永远地怀念他。

Concerning the relationship between the person and society, Locke is egoism, the personal right is not violated, private property is protected by laws. Mill empathizes the greatest happiness principle, tries to coordinate the relationship between person and society. Berlin guards the negative liberty which is the personal right and liberty is not violated, at the same time he empathizes that person belongs to definite history, culture, race and nationalities, therefore he empathizes person's social and historical factors are different from liberalism egoism.

But not as i am now: I go to bed alone with a hot-water bag, an electronic blanket, or a silk quilt to warm myself. when i suffer from cold I can only stay in bed and read short messages you sent me, dizzy and lonely. I feel perplexed, why am i still alone since i have you now? why am I troubled with annoying things without you to share the burden over my shoulders? And why, when I am sick, do i have to get up by myself, drink cold mineral water, and rummage out medicine in a drawer without you around me to take care of me?
