传统价值观念的基本内容从三个方面分析有如下内容：(1)处理人与自然关系时的"天人合一"观和"命定论"，在主张人与自然和谐相处的同时反映出人被自然所奴役的不自由状态；(2)保持社会系统的有效运作方面，通过制度化、礼仪化，树立"尊君卑臣"及"权位"观念；(3)在个体生存方式存在意义方面，有以下基本观念；强烈的乡土观念、强烈的家庭观念、积极的入世精神、强烈的内倾性及中庸思想。
