The static and dynamic characteristics of the beam of a gantry-type machining center are analyzed by means of ADAMS and ANSYS. Considering effect of gravity and cutting forces, the static deformation of the beam is obtained after calculating the interacting forces between the guide and the slide block by ADAMS.
