Pro-EGF mRNA expression only in SHR VSMC, not in the VSMC of WKY. It indicated pro-EGF gene may play an important role in hypertension advance .

缬沙坦有效降压的同时，抑制SHR大鼠VSMC增殖，逆转其弹性血管和阻力血管的肥厚，明显改善其弹性血管和阻力血管的舒缩功能。pro-EGF mRNA只在SHR大鼠VSMC表达，而在WKY大鼠VSMC没有表达，提示pro-EGF基因可能在高血压的发生发展中起一定的作用，可能是高血压的一个病理机制。
