Under the plastic-mulched ridge and furrow cultivation, the average soil water content of furrow (12.7%) was significantly higher than that of ridge (9.1%) at the soil depths of 20-100 cm. The locally compacted ridge served as a water flow barrier and a rainfall collection area under locally compacted ridge and furrow cultivation, and the water content of furrow was significantly higher than that of ridge in the same soil depths, which was similar to the characteristic of soil water distribution under plastic-mulched ridge and furrow cultivation. No significant differences were found in soil water content of furrow between locally compacted ridge and furrow cultivation and plastic-mulched ridge and furrow cultivation, with the same efficiency of water collection.

This research is concentrated on the interactive behavior between the cold-formed steel wall stud and sheathing. Three kind of test specimens used in this study includes:(1) both stud and calcium silicate board are under compression;(2) the stud sheathed with calcium silicate board is under compression; and (3) the calcium silicate board supported by stud is under compression. Three different thicknesses of calcium silicate board and three different spacing of the connecting screw were adopted in the test. Totally, 36 specimens were tested in this research.

The experiment and the research indicate that:(1) Through the Hot-Continuous-Rolling production technics under small reduction ratio of 4.04 and 5.08, the rectangular continuous-casting billet of 235×265mm can be used to produce big size steel stick of Φ140mm and Φ 125mm whose macrostructure and mechanical properties meet the standards, this technics is viable;(2) This rolling technics can make the deformation penetrate to the center of the billet by low temperture and low velocity and big roller diameter and large reduction quantity at every pass and optimum design and arrangement of rollers, which is the key of Hot-Continuous-Rolling technics under small reduction ratio;(3) The sending technics used in Xining Special Steel Co.,Ltd can not use waste-heat of billet adequately, but the sensitive temperature section of A1N or sulphides or inclusions separating out is avoided, creating a favorablecondition for insuring good surface quality of final rolled steel;(4) The Hot-Continuous-Rolling technics under small reduction ratio has a close relationship with the billet quality control and the hot sending process control and the cooling control after rolling.
