With a view to knowing more about how NaHSO〓 increased Pn in higher plants, we studied the effects of NaHSO〓 on the cyclic electron flow around PSI in wheat (Jing 411) and rice (Shan-you 63). It was observed that the transient increase in chlorophyll fluorescence after the termination of actinic light was increased and the half-time of re-reduction of P700〓 was shortened in both rice and wheat leaves, indicating that cyclic electron flow around PSI was accelerated by NaHSO〓 treatment.
