ABSTRACT: There is a significant contrast in scale between Chang'an of Tang Dynasty and ancient western cities , based on a comparative study on the city scale , city contexture and the scale of streets in two different cultures. This paper provides a unique interpretation of Chang'an from the perspective of urban form.
