From 27 January to 2 February 2003, we sailed from Myitkyina to Bhamo (A famous town of the 'Burma Road'). Apart from more than 1,000 cranes, we recorded many other waterbirds. Here are some interesting records: Spot-billed Pelicans (12 birds), Great Cormorants (almost 1,000 birds), Oriental Darters (65 birds), Black Storks (65 birds), Woolly necked Stork (1 bird), Lesser Adjutants (2 birds), Bar-headed Geese (3230 birds), Ruddy Shelducks (5423 birds), Gadwalls (2367 birds), Little Pratincoles almost 8000 birds

2003年1月27日至2月2日间，我们从密支那出发，沿江到八莫（以往滇缅公路上的一个重镇），如上记述，看到了以千计的灰鹤，也记录到不少其他水鸟，一下是数量较多和较特别的几种：斑嘴鹈鹕（12只），鸬鹚（近1000只），蛇鹈（65只），黑鹳（65只），白颈鹳（1只），小秃鹳（2只），斑头雁（3230只），赤麻鸭（5423只），赤膀鸭（2367只），灰燕鸻（近8000只）。

We also analyzed the leg bone proportions of 14 species of Mesozoic birds from the Early Cretaceous of China by using ternary diagrams and comparison with 21 specimens of Cenozoic birds, and concluded that the Early Cretaceous enantiornithines are typical arboreal birds, more basal birds from the Mesozoic are mainly arboreal with some adapted for scansorial life, and the ornithurines are characterized by both arboreal and terrestrial adaptations.

Through field observations and sampling, by referencing to other documents and information, with correlation analysis and principal component analysis as mathematical tools, we know that: the distribution of the number of birds has close relations with density of zoobenthos and ratio of water area, the correlation coefficient of the distribution and the two factors are 0.916 and 0.745, the density of zoobenthos is the most direct reflection; Vegetation types , the coverage and water level may have relations with the distribution of the kind of birds, normally, middle and large volume birds need high vegetation and high coverage as their habitats, and waterfowl like deep water as their habitats; Human activities have low impact on the the distribution of the number of birds, but the activities have relations with all the other environmental factors.
