METHODS: Sixty healthy Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into 3 groups: 6 rats in normal control group, 6 rats in EGb treating normal IOP group, and the other 48 rats were established chronic high IOP models of rats by cauterizing two episcleral veins. The n 30 rats satisfying experimental level were selected and randomly divided into five groups: 6 rats in physiological brine treating group, and the other 24 rats were divided into four experimental groups according to the dose of EGb: group A, EGb 50mg/; group B, EGb 100mg/; group C, EGb 150mg/; and group D EGb 200mg/. After the treating time of 1 month, the rats were sacrificed on schedule. Flat preparation of whole retinaes was stained distinctively and neuron counting in retinal ganglion cell layer from both eyes of each rat were performed to evaluate neuron situation.

Results The weight of tumor was reduced and the inhibitory rate of tumor weight was 36.83% in group B (P.05 compared with group A); incidence of metastatic carcinoma of lung was 100% in group A and metastatic nodules of lung were decreased in groups B and C (P.05 or P.01 compared with group A); lymph node weight in homolateral popliteal fossa and iliac periartery was lighter in group B and C than that of group A (P.05); life-span prolongation rate was 37.77% and 36.77% in groups B and C respectively and survival time did not differ much from that of group A.

RESULTS: FGFR1-positive chondrocytes were abundant in the maturative layer and hypertrophic layer, but only few FGFR1-positive chondrocytes were found in the proliferative layer. In the control group, the expression of FGFR1 increased from 6-week-old to 10-week-old rats, and then decreased and went stable. In both young and adult group, the expression of FGFR1 in the experimental group was significantly lower at 4, 6 weeks and higher at 8 weeks than that in the control group, especially in the young group (P.05). But no difference was found between the experimental group and the control group at 2 weeks in both groups. CONCLUSION: FGFR1 may play an important role in the remodling of condylar cartilage induced by occlusal disorders.

结果：FGFR1主要表达在大鼠髁突软骨过渡层和肥大层，增殖层很少；正常组大鼠髁突软骨从6周龄到10周龄FGFR1表达逐渐增强，10周龄后降低，并保持在一个稳定水平；成年组和幼年组实验4、6周时FGFR1的表达均显著低于对照组，实验8周时的表达高于对照组(P.05)，幼年组尤为明显，实验2周组与对照组无显著差异。
