Pemphis acidula is a pan-tropical species on strands and rocky foreshores. In Taiwan and its nearby islands, this species is distributed only in Hengchnn peninsula, Little-Liouciou, Lanyu and Green-island, with special ecological status somewhat between a strand plant and a mangrove.
