Methods Seventy-five SD rats were randomized into five groups: normal, model, iodine glycerin (20 g/L), high-dose SP (200 g/L) and low-dose SP (100 g/L). The experimental periodontitis rat models were established by ligating molars with steel wire combined with intramuscularly injection of prednisolone (1.25mg, 8 times). Except that the model and normal groups were treated by applying saline, the other groups were treated by applying the corresponding drugs 0.5 mL to the peridentium, tid for 10 days.
