性状描述：棕黑色粉末。溶于丙酮，不溶于甲苯，醇溶液为樱桃红色。水溶液热时为紫黑色，加盐酸后初为红棕色，而后沉淀呈棕黑色；加氢氧化钠为深蓝色，而后为樱桃红。硫酸溶液为深蓝色，用水稀释析出紫黑色沉淀。
