In this paper, the criteria and results for selecting the level of no motion are determined by comparing and analyzing the calculated geostrophic flow results at PN section in the East China Sea Kuroshio mainstream area corresponding to different selections of level of no motion and taking the main characteristic factors of the East China Sea Kuroshio into consideration.
