For exploiting and making use of rhizobium species resources of planting leguminous trees in south China,the full_length 16S rDNA sequences of representative strains HJ06 and JJ06 of two rhizobia,isolated from Acacia crassicapa and A.cincinnata in south China,were determined.These sequences were compared with all known rhizobia and related bacteria and an unrooted phylogenetic tree was produced.

Comparisons of these sequences and the deduced amino acid sequences with the homologous HSL gene and protein sequences in other mammalian species including pig, human, mouse, and rat retrieved from the GenBank were carried out and finally a phylogenetic tree was constructed using the partial DNA sequences of the HSL genes in all species.

Seven major bacterial isolates were obtained and purified. Their 16S rRNA genes were amplified by PCR for sequencing and their identities were determined with homology comparisons. Five of the seven isolates belong to Actinomycetales including Kocuria KD139, Rhodococcus KD140, Rhodococcus KD142, Arthrobacter KD230, and Arthrobacter KD232; one is classified as Bacillus d KD178; and another one as Stenotrophomonas KD237. The phylogenetic tree was also constructed based on the analysis of 16S rRNA gene sequences.
