Objective:To evaluate the MRI features of normal brain myelinization in neonates and infants at various stages of development.

目的：应用高场MR仪研究正常小儿不同月龄段的脑髓鞘与对应MRI信号特征。

Schwann cells were observed under an electron microscope and myelinization.

肌肉组和普通人发组未出现上述变化。

MRI showed brain atrophy in 11 cases,delayed myelinization in 8 cases,periventricular leukomalacia in 6 cases,abnomal signals of the basal ganglia in 5 cases,brain malaria in 5 cases,cortical infarction in 3 cases and congenital deformation in 4 cases,no abnormal finding in 3 cases.

其中脑萎缩11例，脑白质髓鞘发育延迟8例，脑室周围白质软化灶6例，基底节异常信号5例，脑软化灶5例，皮层梗死病灶3例，先天畸形4例。3例患者MRI检未见明确异常。

Results:①Immature myelin was short T1 and long T2 relaxation time referred to gray-matter signal intensity.As myelin matured,it was shown with short T1 and T2 relaxation time.②Seventeen areas in the brain were observed for myelinization process.

结果：①髓鞘形成中的MRI信号变化：相对于灰质信号，未成熟的髓鞘呈短T1和长T2，在T1WI上呈高信号与灰质易区别，在T2WI上与灰质信号相近；成熟的髓鞘呈短T1和短T2，在T2WI上呈低信号，与灰质易区别。

The signal intensity characteristic of MRI associated with brain myelinization is helpful to differentiate the normal and abnormal brain maturation.Also,T1WI is much more useful in the detection of immature myelin and in monitoring of normal brain development in the first 6 months of life.On the other hand,T2WI is more useful after 6 months of life.

不同月龄段不同解剖部位正常脑髓鞘化具有各自MRI信号特征，有利于评判是否脑发育正常和患脑白质病，T1WI评估未成熟髓鞘较好，T2WI确定髓鞘是否成熟较好。
