Methods Since 1998,57 cases traumatic thoracolumbar fracture had been oprated by inserted pedicle screw system,posterior decompressive intertransverse process bone fusion,45 patients had been followed up for 16 months(6～22 months)on average.

1998年以来，我院采用椎弓根钉系统内固定，后路减压后外侧植骨治疗胸腰段脊柱骨折57例，其中45例获随访，平均随访16个月（6～22个月）。

Keratometry measurements were obtained preoperatively, at postoperative 1 week, 1 month and 6 months respectively. SIAs were analyzed by "Cravy vector method". The mean SIA and uncorrected visual acuity were compared among the groups up to 6 months postoperatively.

Within 6 months, all 40 patients with cervical plates had fusions, and the cervical lordotic alignment was increased (2.51±6.75), and without plates and bolt loose or break. Of the 30 patients without plates the cervical lordotic alignment were decreased (1.33±3.43)(P.01), 2 patients had not fusions within 6 months (the fusion rate was 93.3%).

Results: Cerebral low density lesion was absorbed in 3 months;HIE might cause ext ernal hydrocephalus at 3rd-6th month,and EH disappeared one year later;HIE might cause periventricular leukomalacia after the 3rd month.The incidenc e of PVL was 11.6%,64.3%and 80%,respectively with mild,moderate and severe degree HIE,and that of severe degree PVL was 20%,33.3%and 75%. Severe degree HI E might cause cerebral malacia and atrophy (80%) in 2 months.
