This paper systemically introduces the history and current status of the study on the problem of orthotropism and displacement back analysis, recounts and concludes the analysis theory about anisotropic rock mass, brings forward some models of displacement back analysis of the rock such as layered orthotropic model, proportional coefficient model, layered homogeneous model and equivalent simplificated model, and establishes target unknown, target functions and arithmetic for these models respectively, through analyzing the character of layered orthotropic rock mass.
