SHRIMP technique is applied to the age determination of Shuiquangou alkalic complex. Zircons from monzonite and syenite of the complex in the Dongping and Hougou gold mining district are dated at age of (390± 6) Ma and (386±6) Ma, respectively with U-Pb method. Rock-forming times of the complex is confidently constrained in the Late Caledonian-Early Hercynian period.

New available geological and geochemical data of volcanic rocks indicate the coexistence of an islandarc system in the Gangdese and an extensional setting in the Himalayas during the Early to Middle Permian. Peraluminous Stype granites near Pikang (~263 Ma), the Songdo eclogite of the same metamorphic age (~262 Ma), and the regional angular unconformity between the Middle and the Upper Permian from the same geotectonic location suggest that the presentday Gangdese Retroarc Uplift Belt experienced a syncollisional orogeny at the latest Middle Permian (~263 Ma).

The results show that the alloys are composed of LaNi5 as matrix and LaNi3 as secondary phase. With the increasing Sm substitution for La, the unit cell volume of matrix of the alloys shrinks linearly and both the hydrogen storage capacity and discharge capacity decrease. When the Sm substitution is 0.1, 0.2 and 0.3, the discharge capacity decreases from 380 mA·h/g to 370(362), 355(334) and 329(295) mA·h/g, respectively. However, the rate performance and cycle stability is improved. After 100 cycles, the capacity loss decreases from 20% to 18%(17%), 16%(14%) and 13%(11%).

The study of their precise UPb geochronology and characteristics of rock associations shows that (1) small amount of EarlyTriassic (~248 Ma) volcanic rocks were preserved and cropped out in the area, which consist mainly of thin bed of andesitic rocks intercalated with minor basaltic andesites; that (2) the MiddleTriassic magmatism was characterized by extensive felsic igneous rocks with minor basalts interbedded in the middle of volcanic sections in part of areas, and the late MiddleTriassic rhyolites and main body of Lincang granitic batholith have the same extrusive/intrusive time with the age of ~230 Ma; that (3) the LateTriassic volcanic sequences are principally composed of basalts with minor interlayered rhyolites, exhibiting typical characteristics of bimodal volcanics.

In our experimental results, we have transferred the GaAs solar cells from GaAs substrates onto the mirror-coated copper substrates with the base layer thickness of 1.5 μm. The photovoltaic performance of the orginal GaAs solar cell on a GaAs substrate was also measured. Under AM1.5G and without anti-reflective coatings conditions, it is found that the Jsc can increase from 12.6 mA/cm2 to 13.82 mA/cm2, while the conversion efficiency can improve from 7.91% to 8.53%. As a result, the enhanced Jsc and η data of the GaAs solar cells can be contributed by the AuGe/Au mirror between the GaAs solar cell and copper substrate.
