In this thesis, we mainly expatiate on the design of the wefting mechanism and the shuttle box of the heavy wide loom, the prototype is JURGENS loom and we subdivide the wefting mechanism and the shuttle box in the modular way. There are shuttle box, weft carrier, wefting mechanism, braking mechanism, abb joining mechanism, unreel and tension control mechanism and so on.

There are ten chapters in the thesis, we analyze the structure and movement of the wefting mechanism and the shuttle box detailedly. The first chapter introduces some basic things about the task, establishes the research course and some performance guide lines, and lists the rebuilding contents and idiographic parameters. In the second chapter, with the whole structure of the heavy wide loom, the thesis briefly introduces a looms component parts and some important weaving parameters, and we may design and analyze it in terms of them. In the third chapter, the thesis discusses the wefting principle,we may make reference to the wefting principle of the ordinary gripper shuttle loom.
