A APDL program is developed for analyzing the contact stress of journal bearing pair of roller cone bit. The 25 contact stress cases of different clearance fit(including clearance of large bearing is bigger, equal to and smaller than that of small bearing) journal bearing pair of the 8 1/2XXX roller cone bit are analyzed.
