The Tethyan Ocean with the Yarlung Zangbo belt as the main ocean basin belt began to be subducted in the Late Triassic and experienced a process of pulsatory plate convergence orogeny including the Indosinian, Yanshanian and Himalayan stages.

The results reflect the strong uplift difference between core and North Huaiyang flank in Dabie orogen during doming extension period. Relief in the core region and southeast Tanlu fault zone is higher than those in the peripheral regions, northwest and southwest flanks are more stable than other regions.
