Based on the method of restoring the image by estimating the camera shake trace which is proposed by Fergus in 2006 as reference, we find the difference of statistical characteristics between blurred images and latent images by exploiting the natural image statistical characteristics more deeply, i.e. the precise components of natural clear images obey the Laplace distribution in their wavelet domain, but blurred images dont have this kind of characteristic.

First, a non-negative tensor factorization algorithm is improved by imposing sparseness constraints on it. Secondly, the bispectral images of mechanical signals are obtained and stacked to form a third-order tensor. Thirdly, the improved algorithm is used to extract features, which are represented by a series of basis images from this tensor. Finally, coefficients indicating these basis images' weights in constituting original bispectral images are calculated for fault classification.

A ship model with V-shape bottom and protruding keel might cause some disadvantages for PIV measurements. The use of longer laser light ducts extending deeper is a possible solution. A ship model with light yellow paint will cause the unproportionate of light and will cause white background on captured images. It is suggested to re-paint the ship model in black or dark colors to solve this problem. In high-speed test conditions, a ship model's bow waves entrain large amount of air bubbles into water and those bubbles will block the view of camera causing some random black spots in the images. Thus, it is necessary to remove the useless black spot data and repeat the same test condition if statistics requires enough number of images.

In this thesis. Interband coding techniques are investigated for effective compression of multiband images such as color images and hyperspectral images. A multiband lossless compression system based on context matching prediction schemes is proposed. The observation is that the interband correlation in multiband images is usually greater than the intraband.
