In the present study, tiller formation and growth characteristic for three kinds of Hemarthria compressa genet at different growth and development stage were analyzed. It was found that Hemarthria compressa tillered very regularly at the seedling stage, with tillers coming out in batches after 5~7d, 23~26d, 41~45d of propagation. When the plant was 15~20cm high, it started to grow horizontally and the regenerative tiller started to grow vertically.
