Phase identification and microstructure observation of the composites were performed by X-ray diffraction, Electron Probe Microanalyses and transmission electron microscopy. The results show that ZrB2 phase is equiaxed or near equiaxed, which is hexangular and less 1μm in size. ZrAl3 phase is long strip-shaped. The in-situ reinforcements are distributed uniformly in the matrix and the interface is clean,without any other chemical products.
