The time and frequency of the polecat searching different preys and burrows were nearly the same. The polecat attacked virtually all prey offered and thus exhibited opportunistic foraging behaviour. However, it did not captured all prey with equal sequence. It first captured the zokor, then the pika and last for the root vole. In addition to using the typical musteline killing method of biting the nape of the neck, the polecat evolved a variety of killing methods suited to a range of prey types depending on the activity, size and anti-predation ability of prey. The zokor was bitten on the head, whereas the pika was killed by bites to the head or throat and the root vole was killed by bites to the head or chest. The time polecats pursued the root vole was the longest, followed by that used in pursuing the pika and the zokor.

In local mode, the location and size of sampling window of image sensor are reconfigured according to the position of interested region, thereby only a corresponding rectangle region of omnidirectional images is captured by using pixel-by-pixel mode, and then unwrapped to a high- definition local perspective image of the corresponding view angle. According to the theory of Sagnac FourierTransform spectrometer, the method which we used to reconstruct the spectrum correctly from the captured interferogram was developed. With the steps of trend term correction, apodisation, phase correction and conjugate symmetrization applied to the interferogram captured and then reconstructed it, the error was avoid.The experiment to reconstruct the spectrum of monochromatic light source such as Helium lamp used in the developed prototype was carried out. The results agree with the nominal spectrum distibutions of the sources with the accuracy of 4nm.

In this paper, thermogram was used to do human face recognition. The thermogram of human face was captured from infrared camera. Image processing technologies were used to preprocess the captured thermogram. Then several features were extracted from the processed thermogram. These features included the distribution of temperature statistics, the perimeter of the face, the length/width ratio of the smallest rectangle which contained the face, and the triangle formed from the three lowest temperature points of the two cheeks and the chin. A three-layer back-propagation neural network was used as the recognition tool.

A ship model with V-shape bottom and protruding keel might cause some disadvantages for PIV measurements. The use of longer laser light ducts extending deeper is a possible solution. A ship model with light yellow paint will cause the unproportionate of light and will cause white background on captured images. It is suggested to re-paint the ship model in black or dark colors to solve this problem. In high-speed test conditions, a ship model's bow waves entrain large amount of air bubbles into water and those bubbles will block the view of camera causing some random black spots in the images. Thus, it is necessary to remove the useless black spot data and repeat the same test condition if statistics requires enough number of images.
