Our results indicated that tansgene should not increase the risk of pollen-mediated escape and damage the genetic divergy, based on transgenic rice. A new fast method of risk assessement for genetic divergy was proposed. Our studies also indicated that a wide coverage of wind-dispersed pollen of Bt-transgenic rice has potential risk to sericulture in the mulberry-rice mixed cropping area of southern China.
