This project proposal will draw up the short-term, mid-term and long-term research plans in nine years based on the capacity of the fire lab of ABRI in Tainan and the each term covers three years. One or two research topics will be planed in each year. The planned topics will focus on studying the structural behaviors of SRC and steel composite structures in fire and investigate the important parameters affecting the mechanical behaviors in fire. The most economical experiments will be designed during nine years. This research will invite Prof. Michael D. Engelhardt from the University of Texas at Austin to participate in some research topic planning for international collaboration.

The author did a simple survey of retrieving literature by using keywords as "information literacy" and "information quality" on Science and Technology Periodicals Inventory of Chinese from 1989 to 2006, there were 1691 topics for "information literacy" and 1796 topics for "information quality". But if "Western" was subjoin to keywords, there were only 6 topics fetched, and 4 of them studied the middle school students' information leteracy.

There were no significant facilitating effects to the retention of signaled information in the overuse of text signals condition, but there were in the selective use of text signals condition. Experiment 3, in which 2 small experiments contained, studied the effects of reader-based factors. Experiment 3a examined the effects of the familarity to the text topics and the readers' reading levels. Experiment 3b explored the effects of cognitive style and the intention to use the text signals. The results were as the follows: There were no significant difference between the signaled and unsignaled conditions in the circumstance of high familarity to the text topics, but there were significant differences between them in the circumstances of lower familarity to the text topics. There were no significant differences between the signaled and unsignaled conditions for the field-independent participants, but there were for the field-dependent participants. All the participants with different reading levels were helped by the text signals.

through text analysis,this paper examines the syntactic and morphological means typically employed in introducing topics into chinese and english texts and their relations to discourse anaphora.we find that in both chinese and english the most important means for introducing the most important and accessible topics into discourse are the indefinite nps used as objects in existential-presentative sentences,and that the indefinite demonstrative adjective zheme and this can be used as an additional means to emphasize the importance of the entity introduced.however,the two languages differ in that,in english texts,apart from the above-mentioned linguistic devices,definite nps functioning as indirect objects and names functioning as subjects also tend to be used to introduce relatively important topics,and the emphatic one,in contrast to the indefinite article "a",can be used as another linguistic means to give additional emphasis on the relative importance of the topic introduced.
