I’m sorry, but I don’t want to be an emperor. That’s not my business. 对不起，但我并不想成为一个皇帝。那不是我的事。

I don’t want to rule or conquer anyone. 我不想统治或征服任何人。

I should like to help everyone - if possible - Jew, Gentile, black man, white. 我想对大家有所帮助 - 如果可能的话 - 犹太人，非犹太人，黑人，白人。

We all want to help one another. Human beings are like that. 我们都希望互相帮助。人类是这样的。

We don’t want to hate and despise one another. 我们不想痛恨和蔑视对方。

In this world there is room for everyone. 在这个世界上有空间给大家。

The way of life can be free and beautiful, but we have lost the way. 生活的道路可以是自由的，美丽的，但我们已经迷失了方向。

Greed has poisoned men’s souls, has barricaded the world with hate, 贪婪毒化了人的灵魂，已经搭成了世界的仇恨，

has goose-stepped us into misery and bloodshed. 已鹅加强我们进入苦难和流血事件。

   

We have developed speed, but we have shut ourselves in. 我们发展了速度，但是我们已经关闭了自己。

Machinery that gives abundance has left us in want. 机械，让丰富的离开了我们在想。

Our knowledge has made us cynical. 我们的专业知识使我们变得悲观。

Our cleverness, hard and unkind. 我们的聪明，勤奋和无情。

We think too much and feel too little. 我们想得太多，觉得太少了。

More than machinery we need humanity. 以上机器，我们需要人性化。

More than cleverness we need kindness and gentleness. 比聪明更重要的是善良和温柔。

Without these qualities, life will be violent and all will be lost.... 如果没有这些东西，人生就会变得凶暴，一切也都完了....

   

The aeroplane and the radio have brought us closer together. 这架飞机和无线电缩短了我们之间的距离。

The very nature of these inventions cries out for the goodness in men - 这些发明的本质，迫切要求在人的善良 -

cries out for universal brotherhood - for the unity of us all. 迫切要求世界大同 - 为我们所有人的团结。

Even now my voice is reaching millions throughout the world - 即使是现在我的声音已经达到数百万世界各地 -

millions of despairing men, women, and little children - 数百万绝望的男人，妇女和小孩 -

To those who can hear me, I say - do not despair. 对于那些谁都能听到我说的话 - 不要绝望。

The misery that is now upon us is but the passing of greed - 这是我们现在受到的苦难不过是贪婪的传球 -

the bitterness of men who fear the way of human progress. 男人谁害怕人类进步的方式的辛酸。

The hate of men will pass, and dictators die, 这些人的仇恨会消逝的，独裁者死了，

Soldiers! 战士！

Don’t give yourselves to brutes - men who despise you - enslave you - 不要给自己给野兽 - 男人谁鄙视你 - 奴役你们 -

who regiment your lives - tell you what to do - what to think and what to feel! 谁统治你们 - 告诉你怎么做的 - 在想什么，感受什么！

Who drill you - diet you - treat you like cattle, use you as cannon fodder. 谁钻你 - 你的饮食 - 把你们当牲口，用你们当炮灰。

   

Don’t give yourselves to these unnatural men - 不给你们这些不自然的人 -

machine men with machine minds and machine hearts! 机械人与机器的头脑和心灵的机器！

You are not machines! 您是不是机器！

You are not cattle! 你不牛！

You are men! 你是男人！

You have the love of humanity in your hearts! 你在你的心中人性的爱！

You don’t hate! 你不恨！

Only the unloved hate - the unloved and the unnatural! 只有不被爱的仇恨 - 那些得不到爱护和不自然！

Soldiers! Don’t fight for slavery! Fight for liberty! 战士！不要为奴役而战斗！为自由而战斗！

   

In the 17th Chapter of St Luke it is written: 路加福音第17章写到：

“the Kingdom of God is within man” - not one man nor a group of men, but in all men! In you! “神的国就在人” - 不是一个人或者一群人，但所有的人！在你！

You, the people have the power - the power to create machines. The power to create happiness! 你们人民有力量 - 有创造机器的力量。力量，创造幸福！

You, the people, have the power to make this life free and beautiful, to make this life a wonderful adventure. 你的人，不得不做出这样的生活自由和美丽，使这个生活中的精彩冒险的力量。

   

Then - in the name of democracy - let us use that power - let us all unite! 然后 - 在民主的名义 - 让我们用这种权力 - 让我们大家团结起来！
