When I was but a young man I was wild and full of fire 当我只不过是一个年轻人我是野性十足的火

A youth within my teens, but full of challenge and desire 我十几岁时在一个青年，却充满挑战和希望的

I ran away from home and left my mother and my dad 我跑到离家出走，离开我的妈妈和我的爸爸

I know it grieved them so to think their only boy was bad. 我知道伤心所以他们认为他们唯一的孩子是坏的。

   

I fell in with an outlaw band, their names were known quite well 我爱上了一个非法的乐队，他们的名字被称为非常好

This kind of sinful living leads only to a fall 这种罪恶的生活只会导致下跌

One night we rustled cattle, a thousand head or so 一天晚上，我们簌簌牛，一千头左右

But a norther started blowing and lightning flashed about 但北风开始刮起闪电闪过有关

I thought someone was calling me, I thought I heard a shout. 我还以为有人在叫我，我想我听到了喊声。

   

Then at that moment lightning struck not twenty yards from me 然后，在那一刻，闪电从我打不到二十码

And left there was a giant cross where once there was a tree 而离开那里是一个巨大的十字架在那里曾经有一棵树

And this time I knew I heard a voice, a voice so sweet and strange 这时候我才知道我听到一个声音，一个声音如此甜美又陌生

A voice that came from everywhere, a voice that called my name. 一个声音来自无处不在，一个声音叫我的名字。

   

So frightened I was thinking of sinful deeds I'd done 吓得我在想罪恶的事迹我会做

I failed to see the thousand head of cattle start to run 我没有看到一千头牛开始运行

The cattle they stampeded, were running all around 他们自乱阵脚牛，都跑来跑去

My pony ran but stumbled and it threw me to the ground. 我的小马跑了，但迷迷糊糊，它把我在地上。

   

I felt the end was near, that death would be the price 我觉得接近尾声，死亡将是价格

When a mighty bolt of lightning showed the face of Jesus Christ 当雷电的强大螺栓表明耶稣基督的脸

And I cried oh Lord forgive me, don't let it happen now 我哭了哦，上帝原谅我，不要让现在发生

I want to live for you alone, Oh God these words I vow. 我想单独为你的生活，哦，上帝这些话我发誓。

   

My wicked past unfolded, I thought of wasted years 我的邪恶过去的展开，我想起了蹉跎岁月

When another bolt of lightning killed a hundred head of steers 当闪电另一个螺栓杀百头肉牛的

And the others rushed on by me and I was left to live 和其他人冲到了我，我被留下来住

The Master had a reason, life is his to take or give. 法师有一个理由，生命是他采取或给予。

   

A miracle performed that night, I wasn't meant to die 奇迹进行，那天晚上，我是不是去死的意思

The dead ones formed a barricade least six or seven high 死的人组成的路障至少六，七高

And right behind it there was I, afraid but safe and sound 和右后面有我害怕，但安然无恙

I cried and begged for mercy kneeling there upon the ground. 我哭着恳求在地上求饶跪在那里。

   

A pardon I was granted, my sinful soul set free 我被赦免，我的罪恶的灵魂中

No more to fear the angry waves upon life's stormy sea 没有更多的担心在人生的惊涛骇浪中怒波

Forgiven by the love of God, a love that will remain 因着神的爱原谅，爱将继续

I gave my life and soul the night the Saviour called my name... 我把我的生命和灵魂的夜晚救主叫我的名字...
