The old folks don't talk much 老人们不说的多了

They talk so slowly when they do 他们聊得很慢，当他们这样做

They are rich they are poor 它们都含有丰富他们是穷人

Their illusions are gone 他们的幻想都消失了？

They share one heart for two 他们共用一个心脏有两个

   

Their homes all smell of time 他们的家都闻时间

Of old photographs 老照片

And an old fashioned song 和一个老式的歌

Though you may live in town 虽然你可能住在城里

You live so far away 你住那么远

When you've lived too long 当你活得太久了

   

Have they laughed too much 他们都笑了太多

Do their dry voices crack 做好自己干的声音破解

Talking of things gone by 说到事情过去了

The old folks dream no more 老人们的梦想不再

Their books have gone to sleep 他们的书已经进入了梦乡

The little cat is dead 小猫死了

The old folks never die 老人们永远不死

They just put down their heads 他们只是把他们的头
